Rex Golobic Hosts the Legendary Charity
Turkey Bowl to Help
Feed Hungry over the Holidays

For the past eleven years, Rex Golobic’s Serra Bowl in Daly City has been the site of a popular Bay Area holiday tradition.

The event is called Turkey Bowl and it occurs two days prior to Thanksgiving. Pro bowlers, sports celebrities and the community volunteer their time and skills to bowl strikes for turkeys at Serra Bowl in Daly City. The money raised at the event buys turkeys to benefit the North Peninsula Food Pantry & Dining Center of Daly City and also St. Anthony Dining Room.

Rex Golobic and his family -- the owners of Serra Bowl – have created this event to help feed the hungry over the holidays. It has been successful since its very beginning and over 1,000 turkeys are contributed every year to help those in need.

The community comes out to bowl strikes for turkeys as well as pro bowlers who do trick shots on the lanes. It’s a great day, for a good cause, and very popular with the Bay Area sports anchors.

Rex Golobic –owner of Serra Bowl in Daly City and Bel Mateo Bowl in San Mateo -- is extremely active in the local community and supports and manages worthy events at his bowling centers. Serra Bowl is celebrating it 50th Anniversary this year.

Over the years, Rex Golobic’s bowling centers have had fundraisers for nonprofits such as Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Knights of Columbus, AIDs foundation, junior achievement, and hundreds of other charities.

Golobic is always available for fundraisers that benefit the community. Rex Golobic believes strongly that his bowling business is part of Thomas Jefferson’s Bill of Rights. Jefferson noted the three most important things in life are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Golobic believes his business is in the pursuit of happiness and can make the community a better place.

From all of us at the North Peninsula Food Pantry & Dining Center of Daly City we want to thank Rex Golobic and his family for their much appreciated support and generosity over the years.
