How to Help
Make A Monetary Donation
Please make your check payable to NPFPDCDC and mail to:
P.O. Box 280
Daly City CA 94016-0280.
North Peninsula Food Pantry & Dining Center of Daly City is a 501(c)3 organization and all donations will be acknowledged.
Give Grocery Store Gift Cards
We distribute $5.00 gift certificates/cards that we purchase from Lucky Supermarket to allow the families to purchase items not available from our programs - bread, milk, etc. We ask for Lucky Supermarket due to the proximity of their Mission Street location to our facility
Donate Food
The next time you are cleaning your pantry at home or updating your emergency kit (you do have an emergency kit that you update twice a year, don't you?) if the unused food is still edible, call us for an appointment to donate it or take it to your local library and drop it in the Second Harvest Collection barrel.
Coordinate a Food Drive
Organizing a food drive with your organization, church, neighborhood, etc. is a great way to give back to your community. North Peninsula Food Pantry & Dining Center of Daly City provides a three-day supply of shelf stable food to those in need in our community. Our goal is to include the items listed below. The actual items provided are based on availability. The items marked with * and in bold type are the most difficult to acquire through Second Harvest; these are the items that we ask the community to focus on when making food contributions to us.
- Beans, Dry (1# bags)
- *Beverages (plastic containers) – 100% fruit juice is preferred
- Cereal, Dry (12oz and larger boxes)
- Fruit, Canned (15oz cans)
- Macaroni & Cheese (7.25oz boxes)
- * Meals, Ready to Eat (13-15oz cans) – includes chili, pasta entrees, hash, soup, etc.
- * Milk, Dry (1qt equivalents) – the only brand that we have found in this size is MILKMAN
- Peanut Butter (18oz jars) – creamy is preferred as it is safer for young children
- * Protein, Canned (distributed by the ounce) – includes corned beef, SPAM, tuna, etc.
- Rice (1# bags)
- Vegetables, Canned (11-15oz cans) – corn, green beans, peas, carrots
